Between 10th and 13th May in the beautiful town Cluj-Napoca Romania the 7th National Conference of Industrial & Organizational Psychology took place.
The organizing committee was lead by the President of The Romanian Association of the Industrial and Organizational Psychologists, Prof. Horia D. Pitariu and involved the members of the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences from Babes Bolyai University and also from Bucharest University.

The scientific event has been addressed to the specialists in the field of I/O Psychology, theorists and practitioners in the field of Human Resources, theorists and practitioners in the field of marketing and Consumer Behavior assistance personnel trainings, as well as to students who prepare for a career in the field of I/O Psychology and Human Resources Management.
The sections of the conference brought in discussion the topics: Human Resources Management; Organizational Culture, Cognitive Ergonomic, Consumer Psychology and Emotions in Organizations.

Main topics highlighted the role of the psychologist (Human Resources Management) in developing validated tests and procedures of personnel evaluation. Organizational and industrial psychologists represent a very well educated, progressive market that delivers and influences human resource management, organizational strategy, research and higher education.
Conference participants were renowned Romanian psychologists, graduate and undergraduate students specialized in basic areas of Organizational Psychology and research methodology on human behavior in organizations. The program emphasized contributions of both industrial and organizational psychology to the understanding of people in their world of work.

An important role in education and scientific development has been played by the workshops. The subjects debated underlined the importance of the main aspects of the research methodology: “The Methodology of Assessment Center Implementation”, “Methods of Computer Assisted Data Analysis”, “Methodology of Emotion’s Diagnosis in Organizations”.

A special place in the conference program was held by the Doctorial School Consortium Meeting (were debated important aspects of Meta analysis in I/O research study and the validation of the studies and research) and the Round Table “The Scientist-practitioner Implementation in Organizational Practice” (psychologists debated the main problems they face at the workplace).
The 7th National Conference on I/O Psychology offered the participants a special opportunity to exchange experience and debated the specific and acute problems of this profession that plays a special role in optimizing the activity in all sectors in which the personnel development and positive organizational climate are primary objectives.
